      About me

    Life Chapter: Psalms 23

The Lord is my sheperd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

God's promise to all who believe in him.

I am a writer, artist and entrepreneur.   An interesting fact about me, I grew up on the Navajo Reservation.  My Parents were Independent Baptist Missionaries in New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado.  I have been through several states, and have visited Old Mexico and Canada.

As an entrepreneur I have started five businesses, a housekeeping business, was a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, a pet care service for eight years which is still in business, and SFI (Strong Future International)  a global marketing company and the parent company of Triple Clicks, and Curb Appeal where I am today.  With all these businesses I utilized a diversified marketing plan including print materials, newspaper and magazine articles, websites and online targeted ads.

After being homeless for seven years and getting back on my feet, I realized there were homeless people right here in my hometown.  The only help they were receiving at the time was a bus ticket to anywhere but here.  Most of them, like myself, were legacies here and didn't want to leave.  One homeless man froze to death under the bridge and that is when I decided to step in and do something.  I started Montrose Golden Hope Center, with the vision to provide these people with a place to stay while they went to vocational rehabilitation, got budget and money management training, and receive mental, physical and dental care as needed.  This Center would be different from shelters (always hated it when someone called it a shelter) in that it would allow participants in the program to stay as long as needed till they could get on their feet and become productive members of society.  After all it took me seven long years to get back on my feet.  To raise money, I did several presentations and public speaking events on the subject of homelessness and debunking common myths and misconceptions of homeless people.  Some of the places I gave Speeches at include:  Delta Montrose Electric Association, Montrose Pavilion "Community Action Forum", KUBC Radio, KREX TV, Montrose County Board of Commissioners, Montrose County Community Board, Montrose County Housing Board, and several public speeches at Montrose County Library.

I am an avid outdoor enthusiast.  I like fishing, hunting, camping, hiking in the mountains, and picnics in scenic places.  I love skiing, water sports, rollerblading, iceskating and rockclimbing.   I would like to try parasailing, flying and bungie jumping.
